Prima TV

I recently purchased a gorgeous TV from createwithkate.com. It is designed by Ingvild Bloume (hope I spelt that right) for Prima. The TV is metal and has a lovely aged finish. The back opens and you can fit a little scene inside. I was so excited I made 2 little boxes to fit inside as I want to change the scene for each season.
The first scene is for spring.

I covered the inside of the box using Tim Holtz paper stash Wallflower. I cut some pussywillow from the garden and added them. I wrapped some flower buds around one of the stems and added some larger flowers to the r.h.s. Finally I added a little nest and eggs.

For my second scene I used the new Graphic45 By the Sea papers to cover the box. I fussy cut the lighthouse from one of the sheets and added it to one side. The beach hut is a little birdhouse turned back to front and covered with paper. I used a sandy coloured glitter and added some shells and a wooden bead for a beachball.

Always trying to catch up!

It's been a while! My only excuse is that I don't have a working computer and my last mobile phone was shockingly bad, so now I have what my brother-in-law calls a proper phone, so I will endeavour to keep up.
My mojo got up and left me at Christmas time and has only just popped its head over the parapet. This is in no small part due to the wonderful weekend which I have just spent at the Create with Kate party in Athlone. The gorgeous new products that my favourite companies have released blew my mind.

An overview
The box is a recipe box by Kaisercraft which I painted in Blue sky paint by Ecogreen. The colour was perfect with the Couture Collection papers by Graphic45. There are five openings in the front and sides of the box, which can be used to put photos in. I didn't want to do this however,  so instead I used one of the fab new dies from Tim Holtz and Sizzix. It is a lovely lattice which has been designed so thatched pattern can be repeated and joined up to create something much larger.

The lid
Once I had everything painted I started to cover the box with patterned paper. I wanted the sides to be quite simple so I chose the black and cream stripe In the side openings I infilled with a gorgeous blue lattice. In the front opening I layered a black lattice onto another paper for contrast. On the lid I used one of the cutaways and a ticket and added a bow in the black and cream paper, cut with another new Tim Holtz die. I added a door plate and some flowers and a little crystal knob.

The inside
The box comes with five dividers, each of which I painted and covered with different papers.

I added some cutaways and some stamps and tickets.

Lastly I made some cards to go inside.  All of the materials are available from www.createwithkate.com

Card-making class

Some of you will probably know that I teach card-making classes weekly. However I always forget to add photos of what we do. So I thought I would add what we did last week and what we are doing tonight.

This is an easel card made using the lovely Grapic45 Steampunk Spells collection

This is a tunnel card made using Melissa Francis Vintage Treasures papers and Graphic45 Little Darlings Stamps
I hope you like them. I will hunt out some more soon and post them.

Nutcracker Sweet Birdhouse

It has been a loooong time since I last blogged. I have been using Facebook to upload photos of my work recently. I find it really quick and easy and I don't have to go into huge detail. Anyway, I have decided to blog this particular project.
It is a birdhouse and has been created entirely from double-sided paper (except the little fence).

The paper that I have used is Graphic45 Nutcracker Sweet, which I got from the lovely Kate at www.createwithkate.com. I just love Graphic45 paper. The collections are so detailed, that they make creating any project a joy. The roof tiles are made up of about 160 hearts. I have edged all of  the tiles with glitter. I have agreed to do this as a day workshop in December. I hope that I haven't bitten off more than I can chew!
